I’m working on it. The big thing is getting used to the craving and how to satisfy or ignore it.
It’s going to be a long-term project. At its heart is the idea of becoming more aware of how much sugar I’m consuming and where it is in my food. But I’m also trying to pay much more attention to what I am eating. For example, I’ve been gradually sharing a packet of Smarties with my family over the past week. They have their own treats, but I’m taking them one at a time and talking about the sensations with my kids: how it feels in the mouth, the texture, the cracking of the shell. Still got a few in it.
